As we turn our calendars to the new year, the spotlight shines brightly on new beginnings and fresh starts…
Yet I’ve noticed many people are craving a different way of approaching life right now. They’re tired of the same old goal planning to kick off the year, and even if they’re going through the motions to map things out, it just doesn’t feel quite the same as it used to.
There’s a longing for something simple, and more meaningful, to help guide the way. Something that brings them closer to what truly matters and highlights the good of life.
So, if this is you, or even partly you, I want to share a possibility with you today. And, it just happens to be one of my absolute favorite things in life…
Questions.
Yes, questions!
Why questions, you ask?
Because questions are like keys that unlock possibilities and insights just waiting to get out.
If you pay attention, you’ll start receiving clues, insights and clarity that seemed elusive or absent before.
Questions activate.
And positive questions uplift.
Create the right question for yourself, and it can act like an antidote to a negative loop you’re in, a deflector for the distracting chatter of the mind, or a turbo-boost in the direction of your joy, purpose, and dreams.
Questions matter.
Wondering what kind of questions I’m talking about, or what kind would be helpful for you?
Here are a few examples to get you started:
What would make today great?
(If you’re stuck in boring habits or life just feels “ok”.)
How can I use my gifts to help others today?
(If you want more meaning or purpose in life.)
What am I grateful for today?
(If you want more joy or positive energy.)
What if I only say yes or no today when I actually mean it?
(If you’re living out of alignment with what you value.)
What’s helpful for me to know today?
(If you’re practicing receiving insights from what guides you.)
You might even begin to notice…of all the examples listed above, which ones have the greatest positive charge or feeling of expansiveness to you? Which one has the most? That may be your clue to pick that one, or something like it, as your personal go-to-question to kickstart the year.
Because, the thing about questions, is they’re persuasive.
Have you ever noticed, that when someone asks you a question, you feel compelled to answer?
And even if you don’t know the answer, you consider the different possibilities or ways you could answer it?
For example, did you just answer either of those questions as you were reading this?
And if not did you answer that last one?
I’m joking with you, a little bit, but I’m also being quite serious, because questions are powerful and one of the most overlooked tools when it comes to creating your life.
I believe a question in the right direction is a powerful foundation for any intention or goal, and a guiding force to help you along the way.
So…
What if you created your own guiding question of the year?
And if you did, what question would be most helpful for you?
Choose one, make space listen, and ask away. Write down the insights you receive. And put that question on repeat. Then, start noticing how it begins to shift your life.
Where there’s a question, there’s an answer just waiting to be uncovered, and you might be surprised at how simple it is once you begin.
Give it a try.
Why not?
What if there’s an infinite amount to gain, and so very little to lose? 😊
Wherever you are, may your questions guide you to greater clarity and inspiration, and I’m wishing you a wonderful next chapter of life!
With gratitude,
Lena
